Our special fossil for this month is a very unusual planthopper
(fulgoridea homoptera) known as "dragon insect". These rather large,
for amber, plant hoppers have a long very long neck. What looks like
it's tail is really it's scary looking head!

Tick,
good visibility but side placement in clear thumbnail size amber. Not suitable
for jewelry due to placement. Ticks are very very very rare. This is the
first one we have found in 30 years! Any inclusion that indicates mammalian
life such as ticks, mites, lice and hair are highly valued for a collector.
The price is quite a bargain in tickworld.
Only $800

see photo enlarged with many of the individuals visible.

pseudoscorpion, a
cricket, a
spider,
a
collembola,
plant matter, a
midge
and lots more.
Almost 2" in diameter - astounding vale at $1500!
(just a mite or pseudoscorpionin a piece this size, would be valued at that price)
